I've installed Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom on my PowerBook, and have used it to sort through and develop about 180 photos. I went over my pictures from a recent camping trip, and tried out the various tools and effects that Lightroom provides. I like it a lot so far, but am waiting until I get home and can try it out on a faster computer with thousands of pictures.

Lightroom itself is a hybrid of Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Bridge. It also handles importing photos, which is something that my version of Photoshop/Bridge don't do. Lightroom is very easy to use, especially for someone used to Camera Raw. I think that instead of upgrading to Photoshop CS3 (which offers nothing compelling for me) I will instead move to Lightroom. I am going up to a friend's cabin for the 4th of July, and will probably take a lot of pictures - I'll be able to use them as the final test of Lightroom.
